In the US, where most of us redditors are, would have to say it was Smith-Corona Galaxies, Coronets, and Electras in that era, and you would do well to restrict yourself to the metal-bodied ones in any event. Good grief, you say you're concerned about something from your country and then don't say what your country is? Office and personal equipment varied radically from country to country. Thank you for helping me out and reading this. So I'm happy with multiple suggestions of machines I can use. Besides I have to look what my countries version of Craigslist has available anyway. I don't really want a portable typewriter anyway in there since it's meant to be that home office from the 70's. From what I understand is that the era of big desktop typewriters kinda ended, but portable typewriters weren't as popular either. The reason why I ask this is because I want a typewriter in there with a high chance someone owned one back in the day. Now this is not a office for like a company, but really a home office the average Joe used to pay taxes and write some letters. So we have vintage lamps, vintage furniture, and really the only thing missing is a typewriter.
